Shareable Reports

Share live, interactive creative reports with clients and stakeholders — no login required.

Written by Ron Dahan

Unlike static snapshots, shareable reports pull **live data** every time someone opens them. You control exactly what the viewer can see and do.

Creating a Shareable Report

  1. Open any report on the Creative Analytics page

  2. Click the Share button in the top-right corner

  3. A drawer opens with two tabs: New Share and Manage Shares

New Share tab

Fill in the following sections:

Report Details

  • Title — Pre-filled from your report title. You can change it to something client-friendly

  • Public description — Shown to the viewer when they open the report. Use this to add context like campaign name, date range, or any notes

  • Internal description — Only visible to your team in the Manage Shares tab. Never shown to external viewers

Access Settings

  • Read-only toggle — When on, the viewer sees a fixed snapshot of dates and metrics. When off, the viewer can change dates and metrics within limits you set

  • Password — Type a custom password or click Generate for a random one. Share this password with your client separately

Date Limits (only shown for interactive reports)

  • Toggle Limit date range to restrict which dates the viewer can pick

  • When off, the viewer can choose any date range

Metric Limits (only shown for interactive reports)

  • Toggle Limit metrics to restrict which metrics the viewer can see

  • Click Use current to pre-fill with the metrics currently on your report

  • When off, the viewer can choose any available metric

Comments

  • Comments are enabled by default, allowing external viewers to leave feedback directly on the report

Once configured, click Create & Generate Link. Copy the link and share it along with the password.

Managing Existing Shares

Switch to the Manage Shares tab to see all shareable reports created for the current report.

Each item shows:

  • Title and internal description

  • Creation date

  • A copy button for the shareable link

  • A delete button to revoke access

Deleting a shareable report immediately invalidates the link — anyone trying to open it will see a "Report Not Available" message.

Viewing a Shared Report (External Viewer)

When someone receives a shareable report link:

  1. They open the link in any browser — no Upspring account needed

  2. If a password is set, they enter it to access the report

  3. The report loads with live data from your ad account

Read-only reports display fixed dates and metrics. The viewer can browse the charts and table but cannot change any parameters.

Interactive reports let the viewer:

  • Change the date range (within the limits you set)

  • Switch metrics (within the limits you set)

  • Data refreshes automatically when they adjust these

Comments — If enabled, the viewer can open the comments drawer and leave feedback with their name. You'll see these comments the next time you open the Manage Shares tab.

Security & Privacy

  • Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text

  • Access tokens expire after 24 hours, requiring the viewer to re-enter the password

  • Date and metric limits are enforced on the server and cannot be bypassed

  • Internal descriptions are never visible to external viewers

  • Deleting a share instantly revokes all access

FAQ

  • What’s the difference between a shareable report and a snapshot?
Snapshots freeze data at a point in time and store it as a static file. Shareable reports fetch live data every time someone opens the link, so the viewer always sees the latest numbers.

  • Can I update a shareable report after creating it?
You can update the title and public description from the Manage Shares tab. To change access settings or limits, delete the existing share and create a new one.

  • What happens if I delete the original report?
The shareable report will show a "Report Not Available" message since it can no longer fetch data.

  • Can multiple people use the same link?
Yes. Anyone with the link and password can view the report. Each viewer gets their own independent session.

  • Do viewers count toward my account’s user limit?
No. External viewers don’t need an Upspring account and don’t count toward your plan’s user limit.
