When you connect your account, you will see a request for "Manage Ads" permissions. We want to be transparent about why this is required and how we handle your data.
Why "Manage Ads" is Required
Our AI needs to see two things to provide insights:
The Numbers: How your ads performed (Spend, CTR, ROAS).
The Visuals: The actual images and videos shown to your customers.
Meta’s API bundles these permissions together. While standard access allows us to see the numbers, Meta requires the "Manage" permission level to retrieve the actual ad creatives (images and videos) and render previews of them.
Because we cannot separate these permissions, we request the full scope to ensure you can see your ad visuals alongside your performance data in our dashboard.
Application-Level Read-Only Policy
While the Meta permission technically grants broad access, Upspring operates as a Read-Only platform.
We have designed our application logic strictly for analysis:
No Edit Functions: We do not build features that allow users to change budgets, pause campaigns, or edit ad copy from within Upspring.
One-Way Data Sync: Our system fetches data from Meta to analyze it, but we do not push changes back to your live ad account.
You Have Full Control
Because Upspring connects via the official Meta Login, the control always remains in your hands. We do not hold your credentials; we only hold a secure token that you authorize.
If you ever wish to disconnect Upspring, you don’t need to wait for us. You can view or remove our access instantly from your own Facebook settings. Removing Upspring from this list completely revokes our access to your account immediately.
